Najah Wakim (before his withdrawal) holds a press conference
in Carlton Hotel, to announce the names of the candidates on
his People's Movement list in the three Beirut Districts.
He, with Amin Kammourieh, Jalal Begdache, and Sayed Franjieh,
had accepted the invitation for a popular convention, few
days ago, in Mar Elias area, speaking of the economical
situations, expecting to have General Debt double, as
unemployment increases more and more.

Najwa Charara called for opening way to the voters to choose

Dr. Habibi Zoghbi stressed on the importance of letting the

Fouad Makhzoumi attended a crowdy populare festival in Karm
El Zaytoun, Achrafieh District, meeting its families and
leading figures. He pronounced a speech urging all to vote
and have the electoral card, because boycotting distances
choosing the people's right representatives to the
Parliament. He also considered that 'Lebanon could not live
but through its two lungs: "the Moslem, and the
Christian.
Hariri
says that people are fed up of politics, they wish to have
job opportunities only. Our program is for every citizen who
seeks to live dignified. He stressed on the issue of not
scratching any name of his lists, because it would be as if
he is been scratched'. That speech was among the crowd in an
electoral convention, in which President Rafic Hariri shared
with his list candidates: MP's Adnan Arakji, and Michel
Pharaon, Chief of Syndicate of Doctors Dr. Ghattas Khoury,
Dr. Atef Majdalani, MP Salim Diab who works as manager of
Hariri's electoral campaign, Mayors of the Districts, and
crowds of citizens. Then, in Aicheh Bakkar street, a
religious celebration was made, attended by President Rafic
Hariri, and candidates of Dignity list: MP's Bechara Merhej,
Adnan Arakji, Yaghia Jerjian, Dr. Bassem Yamout, Judge Walid
Eido, former MP Mohammad Kabbani, Dr. Ghinwa Jalloul, Nabil
De Frege, Ghazi El Aridi, Bassel Fleihan, Atef Majdalani,
Agop Kassarjian, Jean Oghasapian, Serge Tor Sarkissian,
crowds of Moslem clergymen, leading figures and citizens.
Dr.
Fouad Metni says, "People suffer of the living crisis,
and politicians muse them through resonant speeches."

Bahiya Hariri announced her nomination and electoral
program, saying that, "We are together in the
steadfastness and liberation…Rising and liberty. She
defined the program's headlines as demanding an electoral
law achieving equality and justice, reducing the age for
elections, letting youths participate in making decisions,
working on a comprehensive construction and developing plan
for the South, assisting families of martyrs and liberated
prisoners, releasing those who remained in Israeli prisons,
urging Israel to compensate on its harming occupation and
aggressions against Lebanon, working on the completion of
Saida's present outstanding projects, and starting with
those, which were not achieved.

Akram Farhat tours today in the Southern villages, meeting
Blida leading figures and visiting Mayor of Ansaray in
Hassan Farhat's residence, explaining his electoral program.
Sunni
Permanent Judiciary President Omar Zheiri announced his
nomination, when popular delegates visited to support him,
grateful for his father Mayor Mohammad Salim Zheiri,
regarding the latter's patriotic deeds and stands facing the
Israeli occupation.
The
Democratic current works for a list of 12 candidates so as
to polarize Jezzini Opposition figures. Former MP Habib
Sadek affirmed of the non-existence of electoral alliance
between him and President Kamel Asaad, as both had not yet
met, and will not ally, nonetheless. Sadek says, "We
are assailing our electoral battle on the basis of our
patriotic slogans, and not personal animosities. We are
against replacing hegemony instead of another, as the
Democratic regime has room for all. On this basis, I stopped
my efforts to form a common list with Asaad. Elections
resemble only a station, we would not prevent our popular
massive voters from voting to President Asaad.
Ghassan
Melhem – from the Army to Politics – is a candidate of
Liberty and Democracy. He surprised his family, then
Baalbeck-Hermel's sons, not only by his nomination decision,
also through his agenda, which expresses lot of political
consciousness, and seems unusual among many retired
militants.

Bekaa-Rachaya in a press conference held in Blue Lake –
Seghbine.

Botros Harb convened with his coalition list saying that he
would not jump into tensions.
Answering
Karami and criticizing the governmental performance,
Ministers Sulaiman Franjieh and Najib Mikati declared that
'the government ran away from its slogans, and hid in the
shadows of the past', and 'all the suggested solutions are
not on the level of confronting the worsened situation.
Minister Franjieh accuses President Omar Karami of
overstepping the line of patriotism.

representatives imposed on us or chosen freely by our own
wills? Are the voters, on the day of elections, going to
handle their voting papers using the sinful way i.e. voting
according to the imposed politicians' wills?'
