Brief primary results of yesterday's elections of Mount Lebanon and North Provinces:

The first Session of the elections viewed huge surprises, and a surpassing by the Opposition:

MP Walid Joumblatt wins full Chouf seats, and the majority of Baabda-Aley's.

Penetrations in North Metn, and partaking of seats in Keserwan-Jbeil.

North First and Second Districts still wait for the sorting of 500 electoral places.

46% voting in the North, and 57% in Mount Lebanon.

Minister Michel Murr says, "Very successful elections, the Authority had not intervened, the administrative and logistic arrangements were ideal, and the security incidents were rare".

  • South Province

Jezzine MP Dr. Sulaiman Kanaan promised all that he is going to keep on his patriotic line no matter what are the consequences.

Sunni Hussain Zainab promises to demine Mleikh village, receiving popular delegates from South villages of Kabrikha, Aitaroun, Harouf, Marjeyoun, Khiam, Klaiaa, Kfarhamam, and Zrariyyeh.

President Kamel Asaad announces his fourteen members list, (Liberating the Man), saying, "It is not appropriate to remain being submitted to those who conquer the people". His list consists of: Jezzine, Maronites: Maurice Sarhal, Labib Abou Aatmeh, Saida Sunni: Ali Cheikh Ammar (But, the Islamic Group denies having Cheikh Ammar join this list), Tyre, Chiite: Chawki Safieddine, Hussin Aboul Hisn, Nabatieh Chiite: Dr. Rafic Chahine, Dr. Kamal Wehbeh, Bint Jbeil Chiite: Dr. Ali Mhanna, Hassan Kamel Moussa, Marjeyoun-Hasbaya Druze: Cheikh Hussami Kaiss, Sunni: former MP Mounif Khatib, Orthodox seat: Alfred Gholmieh, Chiite: Ghaleb Ramadan, Kamel Asaad.

MP Bahiya Hariri says, "Saida City will not be under the will of anybody from now on". She mentioned that after an incident in Saida between her supporters and those of MP Mustapha Saad, causing three wounded and many cars were harmed.

  • Beirut Province

Head of list of "Loyalty to Beirut", Saadeddine Hassan Khaled called people to be conscious and be away from all what divide the unity of the Beiruti class.

MP Jamil Chmmas announces his electoral agenda saying that he is going to face all the problems that Lebanese are undergoing, and will remain the voice, which speaks in the name of the nobles.

Dr. Habib Zoghbi says, "Your duty is to choose, and my duty is to undertake the responsibility".

Georges Chehwan relies on Beiruti people, in the name of list of "Loyalty to Beirut".

  • Bekaa Province

Villages of Bekaa support the list of "The Popular Will: Word and Deed", during festivals yesterday in Bar Elias, Kfar Zabad, Ain Kfar Zabad, and Karak.

Maronite Member of list of "Bekaa Decision" Engineer Chawki Fakhri had affirmed the patriotic constants between the Lebanese, and their fraternal coexistence, keeping the unity of Lebanon, land and people. He said this in an electoral festival in the Hussainieh of Chmistar.

Baath Party supports the list of "Dicision" in West Bekaa, consisting of:Deputy Speaker Elie Firzli, MP's Mahmoud Abou Hamdan, Sami Khatib, Fayssal El Daoud, Robert Ghanem, Abdul Rahim Mrad.

Sunni Hussein Ahmad Hujairi joins the list of "Loyalty to Bealbeck-Hermel's Sons", which consists of: Ali Sabri Hamadeh (its head), Duraid Yaghi, Mohammad Assayed Kassem, Assem Raad, Fadi Younes, Albert Mansour, Tarek Habchi, Hassane Rifai, Hussein Ahmad Hujairi.
