  • The interior local files kept capturing the concern of the official and popular medias, due to their possible exposition on more than a domain, and their reflections, which could take place within the circle of stability.


  • The medias watched carefully, within the regional portrait, the Plebiscite operation for choosing Brig. Gen. Bachar Asad, President of Syria, as a successor to his father, Late President Hafez Asad, and the probable aspects that the wind of changes might carry to both Syria and Lebanon.


  • While the operation of sorting the votes reached its end, it is expected that Brig. Gen. Asad will be officially announced today as President, and a date for the Swearing Assembly will be appointed lately, probably on the 17 th of this July. The reformation operations and starting with the new political plans will be proceeded.


  • Interiorly speaking, the living situation appeared as a priority among other issues, particularly that Lebanon will be on appointment with a big workers' demonstration tomorrow, protesting the deteriorated social situation.   • An-nahar believed that though most of the leading figures, on the top of them is President Hoss, confess that the economical situation is too hard, but what sovereigns now is investing such crisis in the electoral battles, due to the candidates' lack of programs and serious political ideas. It continued saying that all expect from the legislative elections and the coming government to open significant hole for breathing so as to reduce the prevailing pressure, particularly the economical one.


  • As-safir reported about the elections in Metn, saying that the opponents consider the nomination of Emile Junior Lahhoud embodies the intention of President of the Republic Emile Lahhoud with Minister Michel Murr to let MP Nassib Lahhoud fail. It continues that there is a trend to cooperate either with Minister Murr from one side or with Albert Mkhaiber on another side, this saying is justified as aiming to shoot many 'birds in one stone'. Such cooperation, if occurred, means overwhelming the competing list, and leading the relationship between Mkhaiber and Nassib Lahhoud reach a divorce stage.


  • The Future newspaper, together with other newspapers, such as 'Al-kifah al-arabi' and ad-diyar, were concerned of the Presidential event in Syria, its follow-up and focus on the Renewing Age, and the overcoming manner of the expected earthquake which would happen upon the departure of President Asad.


  • The Future newspaper considered that the significant issue in the report of the Central Investigation relating to the electricity crisis, refers to the fact that it is the first time it accuses an administration in the present government of carelessness, and not the former governments, as it was usually done since this government was installed. The Newspaper presented a report concerning the publicity companies, which entered the market of elections for the first time, as the Chief of Syndicate of Publicity, said that Lebanon traversed a primary pace in this domain. He admitted that the candidate applying in the market of publicity owes a financial cost to follow-up his campaign, starting from a minimum of one hundred thousand dollars reaching a million dollars, and that the market of elections prints 3 million pictures of the candidates.


  • 'Nidaa el-watan' mentioned that during an electoral festival in Bab el-Tabbaneh/Tripoli, armed people shot fire, and ran away from the rear gate, noticed by the security forces there, and were asked to surrender themselves peacefully, through their candidates, in order to send them to trial.


  • 'Al-kifah el-arabi' dealt with the issue of lack in electoral cards in the liberated villages, which is going to deprive 227 thousand electorates from the right of voting.
