other concerns, and occupying the political and public
environments, as new attracting action occurred by
starting to remove violations in more than a location,
along with the borderline. The Lebanese Monitoring Team,
who is checking in the question of the violations, and
whether it was dealt with, in cooperation with the
International Team, noticed that Israel had been
backed-off from many border points reaching the 'blue
line' which was demarcated by UN. This means that Israel
executed its promise, which was pledged in front of the
International Envoy Terje Roed-Larsen. Meanwhile, as
Larsen continues his conversations in Israel, before
coming back to Lebanon, the Borderline Checking Operation
resumes today, then the second stage will begin by

An-nahar
said that the ruling authority would not make a mistake by
interfering in the failure of some leading figures in the
legislative elections, as the matter will stand only at
penetrating lists in some electoral Districts. It also
found that the picture of the legislative elections during
the year 2000, was portrayed two months before its
exploitation, in most Districts. It continued, that no
surprises are going to happen in most Districts, and that
the electoral battle will reach the extent of battles only
in: Aley-Baabda and Metn Districts in Mount Lebanon, and
Beirut Second and Third Districts, in addition to the
battle which might take place in the North, between the
alliance of Mikati-Franjieh and President Omar Karami. An-nahar
said that the new Parliament will stay in the same
specifications as those of 92 and 96, and in the same
regional motives.

As-safir,
considered that Beirut City is again the focus of the
political electoral battle, where the poles, competing on
the Capital Decision Referee, own various weapons, all are
effective, but could not be used, as then the door opens
on restitutions, which would be requested by all. But,
according to this newspaper, each party works for
achieving his interest, where the political limits of the
picture in Beirut elections are represented through the
three poles: Hariri, Hoss and Salam, without neglecting
the role and size of others. So, the Beiruti electorate
views various conflicts regarding this seat or that,
provided that he accurately determines the quality of the
adversaries.
