with the verification of the Israeli violations continued
to be in the advance of other concerns, which occupied the
political environment. Plus the files of legislative

Regarding
the South borderline, Lebanese and International Teams of
Experts resumed operating on the check of the removal of
the Israeli violations out of the Blue Line. UN sources
expected the arrival of the International Envoy, Terje
Roed-Larsen to Beirut, at the end of the current week,
upon having finalized the removal of the violations. He
will, then discuss with the Lebanese officials in the
coming up stages, after the Israeli withdrawal, i.e. the
deployment of the International Troops and Lebanese Army
in the South. On ground, observing sources said that the
checking operation for the removal of the violations goes
on properly, against Israeli backing-off from some point,
towards the line demarcated by UN. It is expected to
continue that within these two days, in order to arrange
for the final report speaking of that concern.

The
political medias also watch attentively the results which
might show up after the proposed meeting of Ambassadors of
the Granting Countries to reconstruct the South, after
being invited through their Diplomatic corps,
International and Regional Organizations, by Prime
Minister Salim Hoss, to participate in the conference.
Lebanese and regional sources and following-up medias saw
that the conference of the Granting Countries might only
study the Lebanese proposition, whereas aids would not
reach before months. They indicated to the urge for using
the available means to insure money needed through the
General Balance, or through demanding from Arab Countries
to commit to their pledge towards Lebanon. The medias
watched the care for renewing for UNIFIL, as they
perceived that it is the last, because UN looks forward
for having agreements between Lebanon and Israel.

An-nahar
said that there exists an attempt to reach an electoral
coalition in Aley-Baabda District, which might softens the
congestion in the atmosphere there. This attempt might be
real after the proposed visit, which MP Walid Joumblatt
wishes to pay to Damascus, tomorrow, Thursday. It viewed
that there would not be big masses in the future House, so
as to provoke any leading figure imposing himself and his
opinions on others. This newspaper says that the evidence
proving the aforesaid is interpreted through the fact: All
Chiefs of the lists are facing, upon their establishment,
applications for candidates who are not belonging to them,
but, intervening references are imposing them. Those
chiefs who refuse such candidates are facing penetrations
in their lists, which makes them enter the House with
small masses, leaving the opportunity for the Ruling
authority to keep its reins on the House with its
majority.

As-safir,
viewed that the legislative elections pose a case which is
much more important than only knowing the candidates'
fate, reaching the chore of the democratic manner in these
elections, the roots of the democratic parliamentary
Regime, and its application. It continued that, if the
case was properly dealt with reaching future solutions,
then the coming elections will perform a great share in
the future of the political life and Regime. However, if
all the parties kept only watching this case, cross
handed, then the coming elections won't be, as concerning
their results, except a chain out of the chains
contributing to the elections since 1943, always renewing
to the MP's.

The
Future newspaper pursued the electoral hotness in the
North, and the electoral motion in Mount Lebanon. It
stopped long at Minister Najib Mikati's reply to President
Omar Karami who had attacked him with Minister Sulaiman
Franjieh , in a televised meeting. Mikati called for a big
North parliamentary mass. It also noticed the crowdy
Alawite candidates in the North, saying that their number
reached 12 in Tripoli, and 6 in Akkar, all are competing
for two North seats. Meanwhile, Future newspaper said that
"National Mass" finally decided to share in the
elections, by nominating Chief (Aamid) Carlos Eddeh and
Sakhr salem for Jbeil, under the possibility of forming a
list reaching the level of a District. In Kharroub Sector,
this newspaper said that Attorney Naji Boustani is late in
announcing his list due to reason of the Group's reluctant
attitude towards forming this list, fearing of its
influence on its focus on Akkar.

took place between Hezbollah and Amal Movement aiming to
stabilize on ground the situation in the South. A
committee was born consisting of representatives of each
party from each village, meeting periodically, and upon
emergency, to deal with any emerging situation, in
addition to preventing the armed presence on ground, to
deliver the person causing any mischief, and to confront
any impulsive member who might affect the security
situation there.
