Significant
Incidents:

The
South file and the treatment of the Israeli penetrations,
remained on the top of all the concerns of various medias,
amidst their observation of the developments regarding the
living situation, reflected in the Lebanese Syndicate and
political domain, through the preparations for the
legislative elections, which are getting hotter.

On
the eve of having the UN General Secretary's Special envoy
Terje Roed Larsen coming to Beirut, accompanied with the
Head of Map Experts in the International Organization,
appeared a significant development in the attitude of the
Security Council represented in its clear objection
towards the penetrations. Many sources and medias said
that the Council waives a pressurizing and determined
attitude towards Israel if it had not finalized its
penetrations.

UN
Team made a tour for checking the Israeli penetrations,
included the points, which Lebanon manifests their
demarcation, in the midst of the Israeli silence towards
such penetrations, and the unanswering of the report
handed by the International Troops. The medias said that
the main reason for the Israeli hanging on the
penetrations, has a security factor, and is linked to the
restitution of the deployment of UNIFIL on the border.

new news regarding the conference of the Granting
Countries, after the efforts that Lebanon had made to
effect its convention before the end of July, although the
Lebanese request for convening this conference meets
support from Kofi Annan.

the electoral domain, the disputes in Beirut increased
regarding the cancellation of some councils and uniting
ministries, as being super electoral projects.
Confrontation escalated between the two Presidents, Salim
Hoss, and Rafic Hariri, where the living crisis appeared
on the line of the electoral act.

Future
newspaper assaulted on President Hoss and his report
directed against President Hariri, and view in it as an
aggression which rejects the Opposition, and 'having his
breath narrowed by the debate'. On the other hand, Future
newspaper pursued the electoral file in Aley-Baabda
District where new political dealings appear. It made
interviews with 8 MP's in this District, who said that
they face a bigger electoral base, and more comprehensive
alliances.

As-safir
opened its introduction with the following title:
“Wholesale damages, random rationing, fuel in drops”,
as the Electricity stood on the top of the concerns, due
to the re-existing of the darkness which prevailed in the
Country during summertime. As-safir saw that Beirut and
its outskirts live in darkness that was not undergone
during the Israeli Aggressions. It considered that the
debate regarding the Council's question, and its
unification or cancellation on the eve of the elections,
could be explained as within the electoral projects, as
its timing is not appropriate, whilst the Candidates'
pictures cover the walls, and all are mobilized to assail
the electoral battle.

'Al-kifah
el-arabi' said that the politics is loosing its nerves in
Lebanon, as the quarrel takes place between the government
and its opponents, which incites the sensitiveness and
emerges the dispute into personal one between Hoss and
Hariri. The Newspaper found that electoral purposes and
plans are the most significant reasons for the current
quarrel between the political poles and forces, on the
account of the question of people's living, economy and
surviving.
