Popular
and official medias are waiting for the results of the
visit paid by UN Special Envoy Terje Roed-Larsen to Beirut
and the Region, accompanied by the Head of UN Map Experts,
to treat the Israeli penetrations and to achieve the final
verification of the withdrawal from the South for
implementing Resolution 425.

While
those medias feared of the failure of Larsen's trip and
the continued existence of the penetrations; local,
regional and international movements attracted the
observers' attention to the possibility of having such ebb
and tide motion lead to shaking the situation in the
South, if no urgent decisions were taken for the quick
deployment of UNIFIL and the Lebanese Army in the
liberated regions.
-
The
continuous optimism was expressed by the medias for
resolving the Question of penetrations, based on the newly
opened relationship between Larsen and the Lebanese
government, in addition to International points of view
which were announced during Ihud Barak's quick European
visit yesterday, affirming on maintaining calmness on the
border and treating the penetrations.

News:
-
An-nahar
viewed new climate between Lebanon and Larsen, and quoted
a diplomatic preponderance to a future prevail of an easy
climate, as UN showed lately, its adoption of the Lebanese
point of view towards the Israeli violations. It also
expressed its belief that Barak's aim, out of the border
violations, does not exceed the Israeli fear of having the
colonies been exposed to the Lebanese border.
-
The
Future newspaper quoted from official sources that Lebanon
received from UN, last May, new aspects through Leader of
UNIFIL indicating to the trend to consider a new
withdrawal line, which differs from the blue line by 6
points. The Newspaper continued pursuing the electoral
issue in Bekaa, saying that MP Elias Skaff will announce
his list in Zahleh without MP Chawki Fakhoury unless new
technical details emerge in this concern. Regarding the
electoral card and the 'crossing out' lists, Future
newspaper said that the correction of such lists had not
reached West Bekaa, eventually, the dead people are going
to vote in accordance to these lists! As for Jezzine the
electorates acquiring the electoral cards were 7000 out of
50 thousand electorates.

As-safir
wondered whether Lebanon is going to recheck the border
blue line upon having Israel achieves removing the
penetrations and the UN admittance of Israel being
penetrated this line only. The Newspaper saw that Lebanon
will not request the deployment of UNIFIL, as all believe,
but it will declare its right in the territories that are
still under occupation, leaving their liberation to the
Resistance, as the diplomatic efforts allowed regaining
the blue line only. Locally speaking, As-safir considered
that the general political crisis squeezed the government
in the bottle-head, facing a bunch of problems such as the
Electrical Power, the employees etc. All these were
enforced to blast through the debates relating to the
issue of uniting ministries and councils, in addition to
the privatization of Electricity, and the increase in its
tariffs.
-
'Nidaa
el-watan' wondered inquiring whether MP Walid Joumblatt
began his coup-d'etat against Syria, his yesterday's ally?
It queries on the secret real reason for Joumblatt's
timing of his late declarations, if it was not expressed
as a 'coup d'etat'? The Newspaper hoped that the situation
does not embarrass Syria being on the gate of a public
Plebiscite.
