The
Political follow-up focused today on the meeting to be
held, in Lisbon or in Vatican, between the American
President Bill Clinton and the Israeli Prime Minister Ihud
Barak. On the eve of that meeting, Clinton said that the
Israeli withdrawal from Southern Lebanon makes the
continuance of the negotiations process on the Syrian
track more urgent.

The
Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Farouq Sharaa,
confirmed that there will be no dispute between Syrian and
Lebanon regarding the Lebanese Shebaa Farms, from which
Israel should withdraw in accordance to the Resolution 425
or even according to the Resolution 242.

Sharaa
was speaking that after receiving the UN Delegate, Terry
Rod Larsen, who declared that Shebaa Farms are under the
UNDOF's control in Golan, and not under the UNIFIL's in
the South.

Amidst
of all, the Parliament granted a period of 6 months for
the Government to execute the two projects of:
infrastructure and reconstruction in the South and West
Bekaa. This was taken decided during the Parliamentary
Session held yesterday in Bint Jbeil, where successful
Members' words regarding the achieved victory had been
related, the most significant of which was that of Member
Ibrahim Amin El Sayyed, who considered the Governmental
plan as operative for one village only, describing that as
an ill treatment to the Resistance, to the people and the
accomplished victory.

On
the other hand, most Lebanese areas lived Electricity
rationing due to the lack in fuel oil, some damages and
the maintenance works in the Energetic Zouk Factory,
according to Electricity of Lebanon's sources, who
expected going back to the natural state at the beginning
of next week.
