Significant
Incidents:

The
South developments, the question of the verification of
Israeli withdrawal, and what accompanied of incidents
during the last few hours, were the main topics that
occupied the political media, because they refer to
political meanings that are related to the coming step.
So, while the checking of withdrawal was about to reach an
end, as to be a step on issuing a report by the UN to
deploy the International Force, and to define whether this
withdrawal implements Resolution 425, Israeli soldiers
fired, in Abbasieh district, near the International and
Lebanese teams. That action spoilt the checking operation
and stopped it to an unknown date.

Despite
the Israeli and International justifications against that
incidence, where an investigation is taking place now,
popular and official Lebanese fear of international
pressures that tend to keep the Israeli withdrawal line in
its present position, although infractions appear in more
than one point. The Lebanese Council of Ministers decided
forming a mixed force of the Army and Interior Security
Forces of 1000 men under the command of Interior Ministry,
to send to the South. The Council had not appointed a date
for the deployment of this force, waiting for the
developments that are resulted from the question of the
verification of withdrawal.

On
the other hand, condolences of President Asad's departure
continued in Lebanon and Syria, where Lebanese Parties'
delegations and figures were present in Syrian capital to
comfort Brigadier General Bachar Asad and to confirm him
of their support.

The
environment fixes its attention on the Conference to be
held tomorrow by the Country Leadership of Al Baath Party,
and what it bears of steps to strengthen the leadership of
Al-Asad the son, to the country, in addition to the
renewal plans and resolution of problems.

An-nahar
said that the pressures imposed on the UN General
Secretary office regarding Lebanon to accelerate in
authorizing the withdrawal operation includes two
important issues: A pressure by USA on Kofi Annan to
declare that Israel implemented Resolution 425, which
opens way for Israel to acquire an international
Resolution calling to protect its border, and next: to
secure an international cover for Israel to reply on any
accident on its borders. An-nahar mentioned that moderate
Christian figures refused signing a memo that was
presented to them and that called for the withdrawal of
all the Foreign troops from Lebanon, considering that is a
wrong method. It also mentioned that there are rumors
between the supporters of Cheikh Sobhi Tfeily of his
return to play a political role and to nominate many
personalities on his behalf, for the coming elections.
This was reflected after having appeared in Kordaha to
condole Brig. Gen. Bachar Asad.

Future
newspaper reaffirmed that the hurry that President of the
Republic Major General Emile Lahhoud expressed by sending
a memo to the UN, after one day of Asad's departure, aims
to cut the road, through Lebanon together with Syria, on
any international jurisprudence that may show a Lebanese
or Syrian attitude back off regarding the known constants.
This subject contains more than a letter to the
International Society. Lebanon will remain clinging to its
constants as in Asad's days, before his departure,
especially regarding the accompaniment of both tracks.
This newspaper quoted from its representative in the
liberated fence that Israeli Occupying Forces penetrated
the new fence near Mutalleh Colony to Kfar Kila Fountains
district, where they worked again on stealing sand from
the liberated Lebanese territories, taking it by trucks to
the Occupied Palestine, and replacing it by wastes, on the
eye of the soldiers in UNIFIL.

As-safir
counted six reasons for keeping the Resistance ready with
its weapons. First, the withdrawal has been achieved
through its strokes, second that the withdrawal had not
been completed yet, in addition to Israeli penetrations in
some territories and in Shebaa Farms, and the continuity
of the political strain, which urge Lebanon to hire the
Resistance to work on regaining the remaining territories.
Knowing that the district still undergoes political
tension due to the absence of fair and comprehensive peace
treaties. It considered also that the Resistance's weapon
does not contradict with the State presence, on the
contrary it harmonizes with it.

Al-liwaa
said that files of such importance are surrounded with
confidentiality and secrecy, which may cause quake and
shock in the country, during the coming month, on the
level of fighting corruption.

Ad-diyar
presented complaint from nationals of the absence of some
medicines in the pharmacies due to the refusal of offering
by the warehouses, believing that Health Minister Karam
Karam may increase their prices. But, having the Minister
been busy in the Late President Asad's funeral, led to
delaying the issuance of such decision, which created
missing of some medicines.

Al-anwar
recorded the view opinion of citizens related to the
dealing with children beggars, where citizens refused to
inform the police stations of these children, demanding
the government to remedy this affair, and find a solution
to these children.
