  • In the same time where the Lebanese Officials' attentions are drawn on watching the developments related to the Israeli withdrawal, preparations are made to farewell 'the Conscience of Lebanon', Amid Raymond Eddeh, whose body reaches Beirut tomorrow.


  • Regarding the withdrawal issue, French Minister of Foreign affairs, Aubert Vidrine, is in Washington, where he is making communications. His visit comes after announcing that his country had not yet decided whether it could share in the International Troops in the South of Lebanon, considering that no decision could be taken under such obscure circumstances.


  • In New York, Minister of Foreign Affairs, David Levi, runs conversations with UN General Secretary, Kofi Anan, concerning the arrangements that will follow the withdrawal.


  • President Emile Lahhoud received a call from Anan, and another from the latter's Delegate, Terry Rod Larsen, showing fine atmospheres and an international understanding to the Lebanese attitude towards the withdrawal.


  • President Lahhoud, in his talk to Christian Councils, described the Israeli withdrawal as the beginning of the Resurrection, and that 'We are strong enough, and any sedition will not work'.


  • Prime Minister, Salim Hoss, declared that Syria informed the UN that Shebaa Farms are 100% truly Lebanese ownership. In his turn, President Hoss headed a Cabinet meeting, permitting Al Manar TV, of Hizbollah, satellite broadcasting. Hoss, as Minister of Foreign Affairs, receives today, a letter from his Russian like, Igor Ivanov, through a Russian Delegate coming to Beirut, after his visit to Damascus yesterday, ensuring his Country's care to activate all the tracks on the Peace Process.


  • On the other hand, the Parliament continues today its session, which ran for three days. The Parliament determined the Identity Certificate for the parliamentary elections, and returned the Project of combining and canceling Ministries. At the same time, Minister of Administrative Reform Affairs announced of ten thousand extra employees in Public Administrations, Establishments, and Municipalities, and the solution of how to distribute them or to manage their status.


  • Herald Tribunes newspaper introduced a full report that dealt with the fashion of hotel building and rehabilitation in Beirut, to return the glamour to this city. It gave Phoenicia Hotel as an example, its rehabilitation costs reached 105 million Dollars. But, the Newspaper showed also some cancellations in the programs of building many hotels after the Israeli Aggressions, awaiting the termination of the withdrawal operation.


  • Future newspaper talked about a decision in changing the Board of Directors of the Lebanese Electricity Establishment, after disagreements between its Board and its General Director.


  • In the Electoral issue, President Rafic Hariri's lists are on their way to be accomplished.


  • In South, President Nabih Berri intensifies his electoral machine, in Nabatieh and Zahrani.


  • In North, an ally took place between the two Members of the Parliament, Musbah Ahdab and Mohammad Abdul Latif Kabbara, and a businessman from Assafadi family.


  • In Keserwan, numerous meetings are made between the two Members of the Parliament, Fares Boueiz and Rshaid El Khazen, to form a list.


  • In North Metn, Member of the Parliament, Nassib Lahhoud and the previous Minister, Michel Samaha, are communicating with many operative personalities.


  • In South Metn, party communications are made by Member of the Parliament, Elie Hobeika, to form a possible list.
