  • The International Security Council holds a session, next week, to discuss the following matters:

  • The issue of the Israeli withdrawal from the Lebanese South.

  • The International Forces' spreading mechanism, as France wishes these forces to be  beating.

  • Securing safety given by relative parties.

  • The clarification of Lahed Militia's fate, and the attitude of Hizbollah towards such militia after the withdrawal.

  • The disputes on Shebaa Farms. This issue was in the discussions between American

  • Minister of Foreign Affairs, Madeleine Albright, and her French like, Haubert 
    Vidrine.


  • UN General Secretary will submit his report to the Security Council, on Monday.


  • Lebanon proceeded that with a memorandum to Anan confirming his right in Shebaa Farms, at the same time where Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs, David Levi, said that he had not found any single sign or map that indicates the Lebanese ownership of these Farms.


  • On the other hand, the Lebanese newspapers titled their headings with the news of the arrival of Aamid Raymond Eddeh's Body to Beirut, to have his funeral tomorrow in Mar Gerges Church.


  • President of the Parliament, Nabih Berri, requested the Minister of Interior, Michel El Murr, to establish offices in the Casas that give the Electoral Card within 48 hours for all the Lebanese. Member of the Parliament, Bechara Merhej, denied having a deadlock between the Presidency of the Republic and the Parliament after President Lahhoud declared his refusal to sign the Law that agrees on depending on the use of the Identity Certificates in the elections. Mr. Merhej said that forgery might occur in the Electoral Card as in the Identity Certificate.


  • Tomorrow will be an important station for the movements for the preparations for elections. Within this domain, it is informed of different electoral machines' meetings in Beirut.


  • In the South, many resources confirmed of the solidarity of the alliance of Amal Movement and Hizbollah in all districts, and the present Members of the Parliament of both parties are firm up to this moment.


  • In Baabda-Aley, a meeting was held between Member of the Parliament, Talal Arsalan, and Hizbollah delegates to clarify the suspended atmospheres.


  • In North Metn, a meeting was held between Member of the Parliament Nassib Lahhoud, and Pierre Gemayel, to seek further probable cooperation.


  • The CDR issued a report mentioning that the overall expense on contracts for contractors, between the years 92 and 96, reached 5.5 billion Dollars. The overall expense till 1998 reached 5.39 billion Dollars, i.e. the additional expense in 1999 reached 134 million.
