  • 3:45 a.m. a last Israeli soldier withdrew from the South territories, at 6:45 a.m. the Defeated troops closed the Passage 93 on the Boundaries, and tomorrow is the Resistance and Liberation Day.


  • The withdrawal did not include Shebaa Farms territory, which remained occupied. The 144 Arrested in Khiyam regained their freedom, but there remained the others arrested in Israel.


  • According to the Resistance and as per Hizbollah General Secretary, Hasan Nassrallah, it will continue its operations, and the Israeli Prime Minister, Ihud Barak threatens of woes and aggressions in case Israel is exposed to any operation. His threatens were directed to the Lebanese and Syrian Forces. Noting that Ideyout Ahranote Newspaper imaged Barak's withdrawal as a 'house of cartoon', and said, "we lost the war against Hizbollah".


  • Washington calls for the spread of the Lebanese Army, on the eve of the International Delegate, Terry Rod Larsen's arrival to Beirut today noon. It is known that the Security Council had accepted the UN General Secretary, Kofi Anan's report which demands increasing the International Forces in the South to 8000 militants, and which excludes Shebaa Farms from the Resolution 425.


  • It is usefully saying that the Israeli withdrawal was realized by its speed, the evidence proving that was, the military arm , weapons and tanks left everywhere, in addition to the hard breakdown and confuse that Lahed Militia suffered, which made them either surrender to the Lebanese Security Forces or set off to Israel, intervened by a their combat with the Israeli soldiers at the Boundaries.

The President ensured of securing assured life to the 'wire inhabitants', and called for proceeding the steps for the support of the people in the liberated districts.


  • Al Future Newspaper drew the attention for the name that Israel gave to the withdrawal operation from the South: "Deep Thinking". The Newspaper continued saying that Chirak called Damascus to stay away from any deed that may be explained as provocative, and that there is an American-Syrian stress on avoiding escalation. It also mentioned that Saudi Prince Abdallah confirmed his support of the Lebanese right in Shebaa Farms.


  • In the electoral respect, it is deduced now from the meetings held between Amal Movement and Hizbollah that the agreement reaches its highest understanding level, and that the motives for such reconciliation became today stronger, due to the need for alliance to form an unattackable fortress facing the regional developments.


  • The Progressive Socialist Party's Leadership Council named the seven following candidates:

  1. Walid Joumblatt, Marwan Hamadeh, and Alaeddine Terro in Chouf District, Akram Chhayeb and Ayman Choucair in Aley-Baabda District, Doreid Yaghi in Baalbeck-Hermel District, and Ghazi Al Aridi in Beirut Third District.
