  • The Israeli Radio transmitted this morning the speech that the Prime Minister Ihud Barak forwarded saying that he is ready to withdraw all his troops from Shebaa Farms, for the sake of not leaving any excuse for Hizbollah and Syria to attack Israel. This Radio mentioned that Barak informed such to the French President Jack Chirak through a phone call.


  • In Beirut, conversations will be held, this afternoon, between President Emile Lahhoud, and a UN delegation headed by Terry Larsen, in the presence of President Salim Hoss.


  • To Beirut, reaches today night the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kamal Kharazi, who will move tomorrow to Damascus.


  • In New York, the UN General Secretary, Kofi Anan, declared that the message submitted to the Security Council on Monday speaking of the increase in the number of Peacekeeping troops in South Lebanon, is still working despite the big changes that occurred on the situation there during the past two days. He confirmed of the International Troops' spreading in the South once the occasion becomes available.

  • A responsible UN officer said that UN helicopters are going to soar over the borderline to check the withdrawal, and barrels are to be put on the borders to verify that the line is correct.


  • In the South, President Lahhoud visited the liberated villages stressing on conservng the victory accomplishment saying, "I came here to assure you of safety, I call all who left to come back home".


  • As-Safir said that signboards together with his picture were hung in Achrafieh district and the neighborhood, congratulating President Lahhoud of the South Liberation.


  • This Newspaper mentioned that Political Analysts and Viewers noted through media means, that the Liberation of the South may reflect changes in the political power balances, results of which will reveal in the coming parliamentary elections.


  • An-Nahar wondered of the reason that the political milieus expect that Hizbollah's military triumph will be reflected on its political role and its candidates' share in the elections. The Newspaper added that the Resistance conforms with the Government's attitude towards the Security Council's Resolution, and that Larsen's concern is to get an answer towards the force needed to support the UNIFIL's mission.

This Newspaper continued to transmit that 400 members dealing with Israel are going to undergo trial, according to Justice resources, and that Military Court sets on its investigations from tomorrow.
