• A meeting is held today, in the Republic Palace between President Emile Lahhoud, and the International Delegate Terry Larsen, in the presence of Prime Minister Salim El Hoss, and Lebanese and UN officers. It deals with the matters concerning the implementation of the Resolution 425 and the sovereignty of the Lebanese Government all over the districts that are included in this Resolution.

• It is expected that the International Troops ensure of the Israeli withdrawal beyond the Borders, as Israel gnawed more than 12 border points, and is keeping its occupation to Shebaa Farms, and arresting Lebanese in its Prisons.

• At the Borders, Lebanese youths broke in Fatima Passage Point, and the Israeli troops fired against them, injuring three of them. President Lahhoud had a phone call from the UN General Secretary, Kofi Anan, where it was understood that the International Troops, and after being confirmed of the full Israeli withdrawal, will spread along the Borders to avoid any accidents resulted of contacts. Consequently, the Lebanese Authorities have to intensify the existence of their Security Forces. The inhabitants and operative personalities insist on spreading the Lebanese Army.

• What obstructs the International and the Lebanese military movements is the big number of mines, which made the UNIFIL's Leader demand from the Israeli Army to deliver more maps regarding the mine fields.

• Prime Minister, Salim El Hoss continued his tour in the liberated districts saying, "We will facilitate the International Troops' mission, the Army's spread will occur in the last stage".

• On the other hand, Future newspaper showed an estimation by the Studies and Development Projects Center which mentions that most of the Lebanese seeking immigration hope to immigrate to North America and then to Western Europe. The estimation revealed the main motive for immigration, i.e. 85.9% of those, is to improve their living status.

• An-Nahar said that after the Israeli withdrawal, the bet on achieving an economical prosperity became real. It related from Dr. Fredi Baz, the Officer responsible for the Strategic Planning and Studies, in Audi Bank, that what is needed now is a financial policy and not an accounting one. He stresses on Spending and Investment, as their remedying cost is acceptable, because immobility is not an inevitable fate.

• Ad-Diyar talked of the electoral issue in the South, as a new list, different from Hizbollah and Amal's, Asaad's and the Leftist's, is starting to organize its machine, and to move between bases. It is a try to gather the youths independent candidates, who relied on the President of the Republic's word that stresses on the electoral honesty and the slogan "Congratulations to the Winner".
