  • Three significant issues are priorities after the Israeli withdrawal from Southern Lebanon:


  • First: The International movement on the ground that begins with confirming the withdrawal, passes by treating the break-through clashes of the Borders, solving the prisoners' case in the Israeli jails, and ends with the UNIFIL spread.


  • Second: The Future of the Peace Process in the Region, as the Previous American Ambassador in Syria, Edward Dgerjian, expected the continuation of negotiations on the Syrian-Israeli track in the near future, on the basis of the calm atmosphere in South Lebanon.


  • Third: Purposing on the Syrian existence in Lebanon through Israeli and American declarations, last of which was by the American Ambassador in Tel Aviv, Martin Indek, who expressed such near the Lebanese Borders, saying that the withdrawal of all foreign forces from Lebanon is a top priority.


  • Parallel to what was mentioned, the European Delegate, Mighel Ankhel Mouratinos, moves this time in Beirut, to prepare a report to be submitted to the members of the European Union regarding the Israeli withdrawal. He said that the time for building is on.


  • In the midst of this picture, the Parliamentary Session is held in Bint Jbeil for the first time in the history of the Lebanese Parliament, and also the first held outside Beirut since Al Taef Agreement. This Session that President Nabih Berri had called for is specialized to study the plan for rebuilding and reconstruction of the South and West Bekaa. According to what Minister Sulaiman Franjieh said that the Parliament will decide an amount of Five Billion Lebanese Pounds for such plan.


  • The French Press indicated to the reality that the Israeli occupation had imposed in the Border wire, through the economical situation, and during the complete Lebanese Governmental absence. The Occupation furnished income sources to 3000 Lebanese, in addition to the salaries paid to 2500 members of Lahed Militia, and to 250 employees attached to what was so-called the Civil Management.


  • An-Nahar mentioned that the Minister of Economy, Nasser Al Sa'idi, focuses on studying plans that lead to avail incentives for private investment in the Liberated Districts. Between these plans lies a little Marshall plan for the South.


  • Future newspaper expressed the Lebanese Communist Party's comment on the Official dealing with the document of the "Missed". It showed a list that both, the Party and the "Follow-up Council To Support the Prisoners' Affair" had prepared, having the names of 33 martyrs whose bodies are still kept with Israel, contrary to what the UN Delegate, Terry Rod Larsen, had received of 9 bodies only.


  • Speaking of the electoral domain, Ad-Diyar related, according to a political knowing source, that the electoral Southern List shall undergo a change, after the Israeli withdrawal, as new names will show up and present names will disappear.


  • The Newspaper continued that after the Liberation, Bint Jbeil is not represented by any of its sons, which leads to the change because the popular and political map needs more accuracy after the Israeli withdrawal, even if the elections work on the basis of a Province as a special case.
